Sim-Placement was opened in 2002 when The Sims (original) was still popular. I began my fansite with the intention of offering homes, walls, and floors but I soon branched out and started creating objects. I've since then closed The Sims 1 section of the site and began creating exculsively for The Sims 2. My favorite aspect of the game is building homes & decorating. As you can probably tell, I love to build modern and contemporary style homes. I also enjoy object recoloring and creating walls & floors. I hope I can offer you a little bit of everything for your game. ;-) If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me. Below are some common downloading questions & answers.

» May I include your creations in my Homes, Sims, Screenshots, ect.?

Yes, if you use my files in your custom content, just provide a link back to sim-placement.com.

Please don't hotlink (direct link) my images or download (.zip or .rar) files!

» Where are your old Sims 1 objects?

All of my Sims 1 objects have been removed from the site, but they are file-share friendly. They can be requested at Neighborhood 99 in the POBS1 File Sharing Forum or contact me for more info.

» Where do I place downloads?

Extract the .zip or .rar file you downloaded, then place the included files here:
C:\My Documents\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\Downloads

» What is a .rar file and how do I open them?

.rar is another compression format like .zip
I use it for larger files because it compresses them better (smaller files).
You'll need to install WinRAR to open .rar files. It is free to download and use.

» How do I install Homes and Sims?

Extract the .rar file, then double-click on the included .sims2pack file. This will open up The Sims package installer which will install the file automatically.

Make sure you have the right expansion pack(s) installed for each house you download. It will be specified above the download.

I also recommend using the Sims2Pack Clean Installer for installing Houses and Sims because it allows you to see exactly what custom content is included with the file. I also use it to clean up my houses before I upload them to get rid of unessasary recolors.

SimPe - For my object recoloring needs. ;-)

Colour Options Enabler (CEP) - This is an small add-on that will allow objects to have additional color options in the game. You'll need this if you download recolors.

Sims2Pack Clean Installer - Allows you to see exactly what's inside a .sims2pack file. Very helpful when installing homes and Sims.
